The New Kid in Town

Moving is tough, and making new friends is tougher.
Moving is tough, and making new friends is tougher.
If you ever moved when you were little, you know that it's no fun being the new kid on the block. Now that you're an adult, you might find that old feeling rearing its ugly head once again if you need to relocate for work or school. Once all the boxes have been unpacked and you're sitting in your new apartment, it can feel like you're all alone. But you're not - you just need to get out there and start making friends!

The easiest place to meet new friends is at work. Whether you have a part-time job or you're in a cubicle 40 hours a week, start putting yourself out there. Ask a new coworker to lunch or suggest a group outing to grab a few drinks after the work day is done. Don't be discouraged if you get shot down - try again in a few days. A good rule of thumb is to ask three times. If somebody still blows you off by then, you're better off without them.

Another great place to befriend some new people is at the gym. Signing up for a gym membership is great for your health, and it can also be good for your social life. Take a few classes and strike up a conversation with some of the other people you notice coming in frequently.

If you're still feeling lonely, contact a psychic. Our talented psychics can use their gifts to see if a rich social life lies in your future, or if you'll need to take a few more risks to find your new friends.
