4 Steps to Accurately Interpret Your Dreams

Your subconscious wants to tell you something.
Your subconscious wants to tell you something.

Your dreams are almost always trying to tell you something, even if you don't realize it at first or don't remember what you've dreamed. Because the human mind absorbs more information than it can consciously processes, certain feelings or pieces of information pass on to the subconscious and they can emerge as dreams.

To learn what your subconscious wants to tell you, it's essential to accurately interpret those dreams.

Try to Remember What You Dreamed

Your mind is like a computer, storing up even the most mundane information and keeping it in the backlogs of your subconscious. Because of that, it's likely that you remember every dream you've ever had. However, the conscious mind discards dreams rather quickly because they're deemed unimportant. The subconscious is like the history folder on your computer, keeping the details of your dreams—just in case.

With that in mind, know that you can remember what you've dreamed. You simply have to train yourself. The best way to do that is to write down all the details you remember the moment you wake up from the dream. Start keeping a notebook by your bed and when a dream wakes you, write it down immediately. Don't leave out anything, even if it doesn't seem to make sense. You can puzzle it out later.

Know Common Dream Symbols (But Don't Dwell on Them)

Certain dreams can mean specific things. Common threads appear in everyone's dreams, so reading up on repeated symbols can help you. You'll find that dreams of nudity usually mean you're trying to hide something or that you feel unprepared. The falling dream can mean that you feel like something in your life is out of your control. If your teeth fall out, you might feel like you can't communicate effectively or that no one listens to you.

However, although you should learn about these common symbols, you shouldn't dwell on them. Dreams are extremely subjective and personal. Your dreams are symbols of things happening in your life and emotions in your head, so not all definitions apply to you. If you don't feel like traditional dream interpretations apply to yours, having a live psychic chat can illuminate what's really happening.

Think About What's Happening in Your Life

As you consider dream symbols, think about what's going on in your life. Are you anxious about a test or an upcoming project at work? Are you fighting with your spouse or a colleague? Do you feel like your life isn't going anywhere? Your emotions, fears, and desires often manifest in your dreams, especially if you deny them in waking life. Once you consider your life and your dreams together, you can start analyzing your feelings.

Ask for Help

Even then, you may need help. If you need to figure out what to do about your feelings or fears, even if you simply need help analyzing your dreams, talk to a dream analyzer. In addition to revealing what your dreams mean, he or she can help you create an action plan.

Dreams mean different things for everyone but they always mean something. What's your most common dream?
