Five Ways to Cut Out Drama in Your Life

Are you dealing with drama and don't know how to get out of it? Drama can take a physical, mental, and emotional toll on your well-being. It's time to get rid of drama with these five ways, so you can cut drama out of your life for good.

1. Try to Avoid Drama

It doesn't matter if the drama involves you or someone you know, once you're dragged into it, it sucks the life out of you. If people start to sound negative when they are around you or they are complaining a lot when talking, there's something nagging at them and they want to include you. Misery loves company, so when that happens, let them know that you will not tolerate their drama. They will get the message that you don't want to hear their issues.

2. Relaxation

If drama is at work and your boss is getting on your last nerve, you need to get away from the stress drama is causing. Take a break and walk outside to clear your mind. Pick up a few yoga classes before or after work to help you center yourself to handle drama easier. Get a much-needed massage to release the tension you're carrying around. Meditate in the morning to become more present and relaxed.

3. Take on a Hobby

Sometimes you just need a few hours to think about something else. Take up knitting, reading, or even painting. When you are focusing on another task, your mind wanders away from the drama and instead you think about the next steps in your hobby. It's best to practice this in a room where you can close the blinds and be by yourself.

4. Talk to Someone About it

If you're trying the techniques above and they aren't helping a lot then talk to someone about the drama. It's good to get another person's perspective because he or she doesn't have anything to do with it. Grab a cup of coffee and chat with a friend or relative you haven't seen in a while.
