How to Love Yourself: The Key to Happiness by Psychic Cassandra

If you’re into any sort of self-help media you’ve most likely come across the idea that loving yourself is vital for finding peace, happiness, and fulfillment.  However, this is sometimes easier said than done, right?

How do you love yourself?
It’s a question that often arises. There are obvious ways to do this such as eating healthy, exercising, getting proper rest, staying away from recreational drugs, etc. But what about the “hidden” blocks that prevents us from loving ourselves?

Those hidden blocks are the tricky little devils that spill over into our outer existence and throw up obstacles that can result in a less-than-joyful life.  

So, what’s the key?  
Acceptance!  That’s right.  Just learning to accept ourselves for who we are is the key that opens the path to loving ourselves unconditionally.

Now, just to clarify something here.  Acceptance doesn’t mean to avoid change.  When we acknowledge that there are areas in our lives which need to change, and then we do it, this is a positive way to enhance ourselves.

However, acceptance is the first step in realizing that we are who we are and to avoid criticizing ourselves for being that person.  For example, what if you’re studious and love to read books or do research?  What if you’re artistic but are told that you need to work in corporate America?  Maybe you love being a stay-at-home mom but feel it’s not a worthy occupation. See what I mean? Acceptance is the key. 

There can be any number of ways that we question ourselves and end up not accepting who we are. That’s why it’s important for you to start listening to your inner thoughts and your verbal output.

The next step: Learn to take care of yourself.
Again, listen to what your inner guidance is telling you about your lifestyle and your needs.  Perhaps you’re stuck in a job, or even a relationship, that makes you feel belittled.  What do you need to do about whatever is creating unhappiness in your life?  Do you need to find another job?  Do you need to leave a relationship?  Or, maybe you just need to take care of yourself in loving ways to begin with.  

Where do you start?
You can take care of yourself by tending to your needs.  Pamper yourself with a nice bubble bath (or two), go for a walk in nature, take in a good movie, go to the theater or a museum. In other words, do something that makes you feel good.  

When you start doing this, an automatic energy shift occurs within.  And this positive shift results in you drawing more and more good things into your life. This is a natural progression, because it has to be so.
