Is Your Job in Jeopardy?

How safe is your job?
How safe is your job?
In this current Political climate, lots of people might be on edge about their jobs. Could today be the day you get laid off? Is your company on the verge of downsizing? Are you concerned about your performance? If you're frightened that your job might not be as secure as it used to be, you might be living in limbo. How can you know if your fears are grounded in reality, or totally baseless?

If you are a valuable asset to the company who works hard, does what's asked of you and is respectful of your bosses, chances are, your job is safe. If you've proven that your presence makes the company run more smoothly, the people in charge will be hesitant to lay you off. However, as companies need to save money wherever they can, that doesn't necessarily mean you can rest on your laurels. On the off chance that the company has to eliminate your position, you should always have a few ideas in the back of your mind about where you might start looking if you need to find a new job. At the very least, if you're a good employee, you can know that your employer will have your back in your job search - even if they can't keep you on the payroll.

If you're not giving your job 100 percent, you'll need to step it up if you want to stay employed - or quit now and find a job you'll be totally dedicated to.
