Cancer Astrology

Cancer (June 22- July 22) is the natural ruler of the Fourth House of the Zodiac commonly referred to as the House of Family and Home.  It is the place of an individual’s deepest roots.

Cancers is a water sign and negative in polarity.  Water and earth signs are considered to be feminine signs more focused on emotion and depth of feeling.  Negative polarity signs lean toward introversion and tend to be more sensitive and nurturing.  Cancer people tend to be kind, loving, emotional, cautious, protective, moody, and touchy.  Clinging to tradition, Cancer people are perfectly content with surrounding themselves with domestic comfort and security.

So How Does Cancer Fare in Relationships?

Cancer men can be very emotional and sensitive.  While kind hearted, Cancer men are not necessarily soft and at times may be exacting on their partner. They can be very affectionate and desire the same in return.  Their deep love for tradition and family make them wonderful fathers and husbands.  Cancer men can be slow to commit, but when they do they tend to blissfully settle into a long term commitment.

Want to keep him?  Don’t play games with him and don’t play hard to get.  He may feel rejected and retreat.  Do not pressure him on commitment.  Let it come naturally.  Bear with his sometime moody nature and provide him with reassurance and attention.  Capitalize on his love for tradition and home life.    

The Cancer woman prefers her man to be romantic and one grounded in tradition as well. She prefers a stable and conventional relationship where she can count on her partner in an emotional sense.  At times motherly and clingy, she does appreciate boundaries.  If you are smitten with a Cancer woman you may want to show her your romantic side.  Pay her compliments and dote on her.  Be a gentleman and let her know that you are into commitment.  And above all, do not let her occasional moodiness destroy your relationship. 

Cancer Compatibility

Cancer is most compatible with Scorpio, and Pisces.  Cancer is least compatible with Aries and Libra.  That does not necessarily mean that your relationship cannot work if you are connected with either of these signs.  But, you should learn what incompatibilities may arise and work to head them off before they become a real problem. Watch for over-sensitivity and negative moods.
