The Elements of Tarot

The Tarot has a rich and long history - some believe dating as far back as Ancient Egypt.  However, most influences appear to have begun in the middle ages.  There are hundreds of tarot decks that have been developed over the years - all equally rich in symbolism.  Just visit any New Age bookstore and you’ll be amazed by the vast number of decks that exist.  The most commonly used Tarot in English speaking countries is the Rider-Waite deck or a variation thereof.

Most modern Tarot decks contain 78 cards and are divided into two groups – the Major Arcana and Minor Arcana.  The Major Arcana consists of 22 trump cards or keys.  The Minor Arcana consists of 56 cards or pips.

The Major Arcana consists of the following cards: The Fool, The Magician, The High Priestess, The Empress, the Emperor, The Hierophant, The Lovers, The Chariot, Strength, The Hermit, Wheel of Fortune, Justice, The Hanged Man, Death, Temperance, The Devil, the Tower, The Star, The Moon, The Sun, Judgment, and The World.

The Minor Arcana includes 40 cards that are numbered from Ace to 10 in four different suits.  The suits traditionally consist of Cups, Swords, Pentacles and Wands.  The remaining 16 cards consist of the Page, Knight, Queen, and King – all in the same four suits.

When casting a spread, each card holds the secret meaning to your life’s path.  Your Psychic can unlock the mysteries hidden within each symbol to reveal the significant events in your life - past, present, and future.

Now that you know more about the Tarot cards, why not try your hand?  See what life has in store for you.
