Mars Retrograde

Durring Mars retrograde, be prepared for issues to cloud, especially if you have strong Fixed Sign placements in your chart. The Fixed Signs are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius.

Mars represents sexual drive, assertiveness, force, power, work, strife, and competition. Mars governs surgery and operations, weapons, war, accidents, violence, tools, iron and steel. Where you find Mars energy in your chart (natal and/or transiting) you find these qualities expressed through the zodiac sign Mars is in. When not retrograde, Mars energy can be used destructively or with courage and strength.

When Mars is retrograde, everyone's thought patterns are more introspective and we tend to think about issues and concerns, which relate to the sign involved. With Mars retrograde in Taurus, people with Sun or Moon in Taurus, or Taurus rising, will be especially prone to such introspection. There is little choice but to reconsider personal views and opinions about life, for it presents an opportunity to gain insight into unconscious motivations.

The best way to use this retrograde period is to make plans, to work on details and then wait until the end of this period in order to materialize them.
