How do psychics communicate with spirit guides in a reading?

A medium in contact with spirit guides may have her own guides whom she works with regularly to access spiritual knowledge.  As people develop relationships with each another, a medium may develop a relationship with a spirit guide or teacher, calling on him regularly for information. 

A medium may also call upon one of the more well-known spirit guides such as the Archangel Raphael (the angel of healing) or ascended masters (the Buddha).  Calling upon the archangels or ascended masters is done in order to summon the specific qualities they embody, which are needed to heal the person receiving the reading.
