Life Path Crossroads?

The other day, a good friend of mine announced he was going to retire.  Of course I was happy for him. After all, we all look forward to the day when we can make our own pronouncement. But, I was a bit surprised too.  My friend had not talked about early retirement before. He seemed happy and content in his job and he was certainly successful.  I wondered if this was just a spontaneous consequence of a mid life crisis, or was there deeper meaning?  I had to ask him - why now? He simply said it was time.  While it was a quick decision, my friend assured me that it was not a rash decision. Then I understood. You see, he suddenly realized that he had strayed from his intended life path and needed to realign. It came to him as an epiphany and it was clear what he needed to do.

Clear or Cloudy Skies?

As we journey along our own life paths we come upon crossroads from time to time. At these junctions, we need to decide in which direction we will proceed. Many times, the path is clear and we continue along our intended journey.  But sometimes, the path we need to choose is not so clear. As a result, our decisions may take us along a circuitous detour.
